Deciv needs your help! We are not rich, and some of us are having a hard time even paying our credit card bills, much less for a web site in addition. To help keep the forums up, please donate! Any little bit helps. If we get enough we will be able to upgrade our service too.

Here's our fancy button!

[dohtml]<form action="https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr" method="post">
<input type="hidden" name="cmd" value="_xclick">
<input type="hidden" name="business" value="chris@deciv.com">
<input type="hidden" name="item_name" value="Decivilization Forums Donation Pool">
<input type="hidden" name="no_shipping" value="2">
<input type="hidden" name="no_note" value="1">
<input type="hidden" name="currency_code" value="USD">
<input type="hidden" name="tax" value="0">
<input type="hidden" name="lc" value="US">
<input type="hidden" name="bn" value="PP-DonationsBF">
<input type="submit" name="submit" value="Donate to Deciv!" class="shortinput">
</form>[/dohtml]

Later I'll find a spot on the site design to stick it.

Also, we are in need of more posts! I know I've been very inactive myself, but I hope to change that now. If you have a friend who might fit in here, tell them about Deciv and how 1337 we are! See a cool movie or hear about a cool new band? Post about it! Got a weird tech problem and don't know how to fix it? Post about it! Find a weird spot on your floor and don't know what it is? Post about it!

Sweet. Before I donate, I want to make sure that my money is going to deciv and not to something else (cough WoW/spoilers). How much does deciv cost to run each month/year?

WHOOPS i know it was posted elsewhere. It costs 10 bucks a month. I'll pay for the next two months.

We are currently on http://www.revolutionhosting.net/hosting/shared.php, which we've been paying a year at a time for $8/mo. We may switch to a different host though, as Mike's done some research on that. Once we get enough we'll buy a year's hosting of whatever we choose to go with.

I think once we hit 80ish bucks we can get 2 years from the place I was looking at.

Once we switch servers anyone that has or does donate at least $10 will get an email account and a subdomain for your own use. If you so desire.

i desire. i would like some space to put up some .mp-trees or .oggs. Maybe about 50MB or so on an ftp with a login. That would be killer. shifty.gif

We haven't discussed it, but it'll probably be 100 MB, and no cap on bandwidth. Assuming you don't get posted to Slashdot or something and flood our server. tongue.gif

They'll have independent FTP logins which will be the same as your email logins (the subdomain name and email address will be the same).
